Peter Hiatt is a photographer and artist living in Denton, Texas. His artwork is concerned with the relationship people have with their environment, and how they interact with the land they inhabit.
Peter Hiatt earned a Bachelors of Fine Art Degree in Photography from Texas Tech University in 2012. After graduation, he moved to Portland, Oregon, where he photographed for Willamette Week, and alternative weekly newspaper. From Oregon, he moved to Fort Worth/Dallas area. He worked as an instructional assistant for Tarrant County College, as well as a gallery assistant for Afterimage Gallery, a fine art gallery that exclusively deals in photography. During this time, he continued to pursue independent photographic projects.
In the fall of 2014, Peter Hiatt started the Masters of Fine Art degree program at the University of North Texas. While pursuing his degree, he has taught several classes in Design and Photography. He will graduate in May of 2017.
Peter Hiatt has exhibited in galleries and institutions throughout North Texas, including The Fort Worth Community Arts Center, 500X, Artspace 111, Gallery 414, Texas Women’s University, the University of North Texas and the University of Oklahoma. He is currently preparing for his thesis show, which will be shown in Dallas in March of 2017.
